A Premier Destination for Future Osteopathic Physicians

With the goal of welcoming the first class of osteopathic physicians in 2026, the proposed Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine will be situated at 400 S. Jefferson Street in Chicago, Illinois. This centralized hub will be dedicated to the learning and training of the next generation of health care professionals.

A Legacy of Innovation

For more than 45 years, The Chicago School has been a cornerstone of the downtown Chicago community, pioneering curricula in psychology, health, business, counseling, and behavioral sciences. The new location will not only continue this tradition but also expand to include programs that focus on the intersection between mental and physical health. This includes the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree program, which will set The Chicago School on a new trajectory of community impact.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

Our new, state-of-the-art campus will feature:

  • Lecture halls and classrooms: Equipped with the latest technology to facilitate effective learning.
  • Collaborative learning areas: Spaces that promote teamwork and innovation.
  • Event spaces: Venues re-designed to host large public events, fostering community engagement.
  • Virtual laboratory: A 360-degree virtual learning simulation to immerse students in emergency environments they may find themselves in as physicians.

Community and Economic Impact

The campus will serve as a hub for community leaders in mental and physical health, aiming to address inequities and challenges in the current health system. Additionally, the increased pedestrian traffic is expected to stimulate business growth in the district, contributing to the economic vitality of the area.

Collaboration with The Community Solution Education System

This new location will also house the Chicago offices of The Community Solution Education System, an integrated, nonprofit system of colleges and universities that includes The Chicago School. This collaboration enhances institutional sustainability, student success, and community impact through shared resources and strategic partnerships. In addition to The Chicago School, The Community Solution Education System includes Pacific Oaks College & Children’s School, The Colleges of Law, Saybrook University, Kansas Health Science University – Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and University of Western States. The synergy between The Chicago School and The Community Solution Education System ensures that students benefit from economies of scale, academic innovation, and resourceful business solutions, maximizing their educational experiences.
